Match Format

Each set will be 3 games to 25 points

Teams switch sides after each game
-
The first serving team switches after each game
-
The team that doesn't choose the side, chooses the serve
Scoring
-
Rally point scoring
-
A point is awarded on every rally
-
Cap at 27 points
Serving
-
Serve must be contacted behind the end line
-
Overhand and underhand serves are permitted
-
Net serves are legal if the ball continues over and lands in play
-
Foot faults result in loss of rally
-
Correct service order must be maintained
Rotation & Positions
-
Six players on court
-
Teams rotate clockwise when winning serve
-
Front-row players may attack above the net
-
Back-row players:
-
May not attack above the net in front of the attack line
-
May attack from behind the attack line
-
Ball Handling
-
Multiple contacts allowed on first team contact
-
Lifts, catches, or throws are faults
-
Blocks do not count as a team contact
-
A block touch allows three additional contacts
Net & Center Line
-
Players may not touch the net during play under any circumstance
-
Players may cross the center line provided no interference occurs
-
Reaching over the net is permitted only after the opponent’s attack
Multiple Ceiling Contacts
-
A ball may contact the ceiling or overhead obstruction only once on a team’s own side of the court.
-
Any second contact with the ceiling by the same team before the ball crosses the net results in a loss of rally.
-
Ceiling contact does not reset the team’s allowed number of contacts.
-
The ball may not cross the net after any ceiling contact, regardless of the number of touches.

Any ceiling contact on the opponent’s side of the court is immediately out of play.
Time-Outs

Each team is permitted 1 time out per game
-
Each time-out is 30 seconds
-
No carry-over between games
Game Rosters
-
Teams are required to play all rostered players in attendance before utilizing any substitutions.

Each team is only allowed to have on the court a maximum of 1 less female than the opposing team at any time.

Proper indoor court shoes required

No jewelry, except medical alert items
